Unless you've been living north of The Wall these days (where wi-fi signals are non-existent), it's damn near impossible to avoid the excitement surrounding the return of GAME OF THRONES tonight...
Hard to believe a whole year has passed since we all attended The Red Wedding, but it's true and the creative minds behind this fine program claim that Season 4 will be the most action-packed season yet... Sounds promising, I think I'll watch...
Below you will find an alternate opening credits sequence, which was rightfully shelved for misrepresenting the show's mood and tone... Yo yo it's April, fools!!!

While I've never really been a huge fan of the Musical genre itself, I'm certainly gracious enough to dish out props to any performer (past or present), that can sing a song whilst tap-dancing on roller skates... It's an impressive spectacle to behold and yes, I cannot do that myself...
Take the next 4m20s out of your day to appreciate the great GENE KELLY, as he delivers the ANDRÉ PREVIN-penned ditty "I Like Myself" from the 1955 classic IT'S ALWAYS FAIR WEATHER...

Sure it's still pretty early on to declare something the "best of the year", but this new video for "Turn Down For What" from French producer DJ SNAKE featuring LIL JON is one of the greatest things you'll probably ever see on the InterWebz...
Then again, if you find yourself easily offended by duurrrty club beats, bouncing boobies and dancing dicks, you might want to skip this... The rest of ya'll should just go and press play...
It's very comforting to know that I am not the only one going through TRUE DETECTIVE withdrawals these days... Here we are two weeks after the stellar first season ended and plenty of folks are continuing to show love for the popular HBO series with various gifs, memes and online spoofs...
My favorite of the bunch so far are these HARDY BOYS-infused book covers featuring "best buds" Rust and Marty working the case and chasing down the bad men... Well alright, alright...

Chicago's very own folk enchantress ANGEL OLSEN released her second album BURN YOUR FIRE FOR NO WITNESS on JAGJAGUWAR last month, around the same time I was easing back into the blogging game, so I thought now would be an opportune time to make mention of just how wonderful and rockin' these new tunes are...
Check out her video for the song "Hi-Five" and try your darndest not to fall for this lovely young woman with an equally lovely voice... It's like she's singing right to me, man...
Spring is only five days away now and the weather is starting to improve in my neck uv da woods, so I can't help but get a little anxious for the day when we can turn down the heat, open up all the windows and enjoy a little bit of fresh air...
And when that glorious time comes, I'll be sure to have a lissen to THE HOLLIES' 1974 rendition of "The Air That I Breathe" as I exhale some diggity-dankness... Join me, won't you???

I've been howling grand praise about the Baltimore band FUTURE ISLANDS for some time now, so I was happy to learn that after signing to the iconic music label 4AD earlier this year, these talented gents are now releasing their fourth album SINGLES come March 25th... Let me just say that I've listened to it about 10 times so far and I fucking love it...
Last Monday they made their network television debut on the LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, performing the opening track "Seasons (Waiting On You)" and judging by the reaction afterwards, I'd say that FUTURE ISLANDS earned themselves a few new fans that night... Well done sirs...

So I had the pleasure of watching ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE a couple nights back and I must admit, this is probably my favorite film by JIM JARMUSCH to date...
Everything in this romantic vampire flick is simply bad-ass, from the phenomenal score provided by SQÜRL and JOZEF VAN WISSEM to the wonderful use of cities like Detroit and Tangier as the story's backdrop... Even the genius casting of TILDA SWINTON and TOM HIDDLESTON is spot-on, including a much-welcomed appearance by the great MIA WASIKOWSKA... To top it all off, the original screenplay by JARMUSCH is brimming with plenty of coolness and humor...
Pardon the pun, but it's got mad bite... Hitting theaters April 11th, you can peep this newly released trailer below...

This new film ENEMY opens in theaters next week and once again pairs JAKE GYLLENHAAL with DENIS VILLENEUVE, the talented Canadian director behind last year's highly-underrated thriller PRISONERS...
Also starring the lovely MÉLANIE LAURENT and Dorothy Vallens herself, ISABELLA ROSSELLINI, your nether regions might start tingling after viewing this saucy teaser trailer, which boasts it's fair share of suspense and plenty of glorious ta-tas...

Heart-breaking news today that beloved actor PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN has died at the age of 46 from an apparent drug overdose... As there are far too many memorable roles in this man's impressive film resumé to mention, I just wanted to pay my respects and state the obvious that all of his brilliant performances will surely be cherished for years to come...
